Aria sat in the window seat in the library and watched through the diamond patterned glass for any sign of the car. He'd been there all morning, fidgeting impatiently, anxiously waiting for his husband's return. Narim had been away on business for months and Aria had missed him terribly.

He swallowed and looked at Narim, offering him a little a smile.

He was tired and his body ached, the weather was cold, he would rather have been at home. But Narim wanted him to go out shopping so he had to kill at least a few hours doing just that. He went from shop to shop and bought a book for himself and a new shirt he thought Narim would like on him, then he went in search of a present for his husband.
Narim was difficult to buy for because he would buy whatever he wanted himself, but Aria eventually found a double deluxe limited edition CD of Bizet's 'Carmen' that he didn't have but would probably appreciate. Narim enjoyed his opera, and Carmen was one of his favourites. Aria also found a black silk scarf he thought he might like and bought him that as well.
He was back at the house by four o'clock and was starving - he hadn't dared eat out or buy so much as a snack, he knew there was a chance his husband would be angry if he did, missing breakfast had been his own fault after all. He sat in the living room with his new book and curled up to read while he waited for dinner.
