Aria sat in the window seat in the library and watched through the diamond patterned glass for any sign of the car. He'd been there all morning, fidgeting impatiently, anxiously waiting for his husband's return. Narim had been away on business for months and Aria had missed him terribly.

Soon enough, a car was pulling up and an exhausted, worn and just plain tired Narim was getting out of the back. Truthfully, all he wanted to do was make it to his bed and collapse. It had been a long few months away from his home and yes, even his husband, but sleep seemed more welcoming and something he wanted so much more greatly at the moment.

Coming into the house, he tossed his coat at a person waiting for him before making his way up the stairs.

Aria had jumped to his feet the moment he'd heard the sound of the car. He was desperate to rush downstairs to meet Narim at the door, but he knew he might not want to be smothered after such a long trip, he would likely be tired and a little stressed. So Aria went to their bedroom and checked himself in the mirror to make sure he looked his best, then stood by the bedroom door and waited.

He took his time climbing the stairs, only because his aching body would carry him so fast and he could feel the start of a headache coming on and now more than before he wanted to go to sleep. To close the curtains and sleep until he no longer felt the urge to sleep anymore.

Walking into the bedroom though, he was greeted by his husband standing there, waiting. Part of him thought to himself how obedient and eager, he just didn't voice it. He gave the faintest of smiles, a kiss to the side of Aria's head and he passed him. Like he had just come back from the grocery store. Sitting on the edge of the bed, he sighed, looking down at his shoes. "Aria, love. Come help with my shoes, yes?" It was a simple tasks he was more than capable of doing himself, but again, he was aching and he knew Aria would do it nonetheless.

Aria smiled but didn't say anything at first, he knew Narim well enough by now to sense his moods and mostly how to respond to them. Right now Narim seemed tired, so Aria would be calm and quiet.
He crouched in front of him with a gentle "Of course," at his request and began to unlace his shoes.

What he really wanted to do was throw his arms around him and kiss him properly, to ask how he'd been, to tell him how much he'd missed him, how he'd ached every moment of every day since he'd gone away. But of course he did none of those things, though he couldn't help seeming a little preoccupied.

Narim let his eyes wander down, watching as his husband unlaced his shoes and the moment he was free of his shoes, he was laying back on the bed. He had noticed Aria had been preoccupied and even though he was exhausted, he still looked over at him from where he was laying. "Is something on your mind?"

"Nothing," he replied, quickly. "Just glad to have you home."
He kissed his knee and then stood back up and put the shoes neatly in their place in the bottom of the wardrobe.

That made him lean up on his elbows, his voice coming out sternly. "You're lying to me. There's something else."

He swallowed nervously but made an effort at a shaky smile - he'd been so looking forward to Narim's return, now it was threatening to be one of those evenings...
"No, there's nothing else. I just missed you, that's all."

He sat up more, felt his shoulders tense, along with his jaw. It was almost like he could hear a ticking in his brain and it kept getting louder and louder and soon, he would just snap. He swung his legs to hang off the bed, his hands gripping the side of the bed as he looked at Aria, his eyes growing slightly darker. "Why are you lying to me? I asked a simple question, Aria. I come home from a long trip and this is how I'm greeted? Lies already? Here I thought you loved me. You don't lie to those you love."

"I'm not lying," Aria insisted, he could feel that cold feeling he remembered all too well begin to creep down his spine and he instinctively made himself smaller. "Am I not allowed to miss you when you're gone for a long time? I love you..." his voice was gentle, calm, attempting to soothe his husband, sometimes it worked, often it didn't...

"Do not talk back to me like I am some child!" He shouted, soon coming up off the bed finally, his feet hitting the floor and his eyes now as dark as coals and he could feel a heat seething deep inside of him, like a volcano about to erupt. He took slow steps towards his husband, glaring as he spoke. "I know you were thinking something else, Aria. I am not an idiot and you are treating me as such and I do not appreciate that, you know that," his words being spoken now through clenched teeth.

"I'm sorry..."
Aria took a step back and tried desperately to think of something to say but he had no idea what Narim wanted to hear. "You're right, that was disrespectful, forgive me..."

He just now was thinking Aria was hiding something and that irritated him, more than it really should it irritate a person. Things got to him differently than they did others and he just kept backing Aria up until his husband was against a wall. "Now you are saying things that you think I want to hear and that.. " He seemed to take a shuddering breath in, as if to calm himself, but that was never what it did. "One more time I am going to ask you. Was there something else you were thinking or wanted to say to me?"

"No..." Aria murmured, eyes on the floor, preparing helplessly for the inevitable. " ...only that I wanted to kiss you properly... "

If Aria had said that from the start - Narim thought to himself - he would've been fine, it wouldn't have esclated to this, to the anger he felt. None that worked in the house ever did a thing, no matter what they heard. Though, Narim only kept it in the privacy, usually, of their bedroom or anywhere really where prying eyes weren't watching.

He took a step back, that anger finally like a cord that just snapped because he still convinced himself a kiss wasn't what Aria had wanted or had wanted to tell him about. He brought up his hand and felt Aria's cheek against the back of it as he brought it across his husband's face. "Liar!" He shouted at him. "Do you even realize how you have ruined my homecoming? I could have been resting now, but because of you and your lies I am not! I am going to go to my office now because apparently I am not allowed to rest. When you finally realize you need to apologize to me, you come and do so," he snapped, letting out a low growl as he exited their bedroom and went to his office.

The blow was hard enough that he was unable to stifle a gasp, despite having been prepared for what was coming. He wanted to cry but he knew that would only make Narim more angry so he held back and stayed still and silent until he left. He stayed frozen there a moment, then very slowly brought a trembling hand to his struck face.

He sat on the edge of the bed and took some deep breaths to cope and calm himself down, also to give Narim some time to cool off. He left it for half an hour, long enough for his husband to hopefully be in a slightly better mood, but not long enough that he would be getting too impatient.
Aria went to his office and knocked gently twice on the door.

Narim finally calmed down and one would think he would feel remorse for hitting his husband, for the person he also supposedly love, but in his mind it was justified because Aria had brought it on himself. Had he been honest in the beginning, none of it would've even happened.

Narim had tea brought in while he waited and when he heard the two knocks, he knew who it was and he sat back in his desk chair. "Come in."

Aria opened the door and slipped in quietly, then shut it quickly behind him. He loitered by the door, reluctant to move closer to Narim until he was sure his mood was better.
"I'm sorry I spoiled your evening..." he said, his voice just loud enough to be heard. "It was selfish of me."

Narim nodded and slowly stood, his demeanor much more calm and relaxing. "You are right, it was very selfish of you, but I forgive you, love," he said, walking over to press a kiss to Aria's forehead. "You know I hate when I get like that, I just wish you would listen, you know?"

He nodded. "I know, I'm sorry. Thank you for being so understanding..."
He carefully let his head rest on Narim's shoulder in an affectionate manner, hoping that he'd been forgiven, forgetting all too easily that he hadn't actually done anything wrong. Narim loved him, he would never hurt him unless he deserved it - perhaps his tone had been disrespectful... besides, he shouldn't have argued with him when he knew he was tired.

He let Aria rest his head against him and gently lifted a hand to settle on the back of his neck, his head turning so his nose nuzzled into his husband's hair and he took in a breath of him. "I know you will find a way to make it up to me, I have no doubt about that," he murmured into his hair before he was pulling away to go sit at his desk, before motioning to the tea on the small table in his office. "Help yourself, love."

"Thank you."
Aria first checked Narim's cup to see if it was empty, which it was, so he topped that up and brought it back to him before pouring for himself and taking a seat in the other chair.

Narim looked down briefly at the cup of tea and then across his desk at Aria. "Now what did you say earlier about a proper kiss?" He smirked, clearly his mood changing into something very different as he pushed his chair back and patted his lap.
