Aria sat in the window seat in the library and watched through the diamond patterned glass for any sign of the car. He'd been there all morning, fidgeting impatiently, anxiously waiting for his husband's return. Narim had been away on business for months and Aria had missed him terribly.

He kissed the top of his head before leaning down to kiss his forehead and then his lips. "Good. You should go get dressed and just come let me know when you are ready and I will call the car for you," he said, using a hand to tilt Aria's head up so that their eyes met. "I love you."

As their eyes met he managed a little smile. "I love you too, forever."
He padded back into the bedroom, clutching his towel around him, and started to pick out some clothes and get dressed. He hoped Narim would be content with what he chose to wear so he wouldn't have to change again.
He was hungry but didn't dare ask for breakfast.

When Aria had left to get dressed, he did as well and went back to his office to work on some papers as he waited for Aria to come in.

Aria dressed in smart dark denim jeans and a blue turtle-neck sweater that hid the bruising on the back of his neck. There was nothing he could do about the mark on his face but it was easier to sound believable when you made up excuses for that kind of thing if you were a man.

He went to Narim's office and stood just inside the door, leaving it open a little because it made him feel a little safer. He eyed the desk, the papers in one spot crumpled from having a struggling person pressed against them.

He swallowed and looked at Narim, offering him a little a smile.

Narim had been occupied, but finally he noticed his husband standing inside his office and he offered a smile of his own. He didn't say anything, but went to his wallet that was placed on his desk and pulled a plastic card out. Walking over to Aria, he held it out, tilting his head to the side slightly. "You look very handsome," he said quietly. "Here, take the card and enjoy yourself, love. Just remember, dinner is at five."

Aria took the card and slipped it into his pocket. "Thank Narim. I won't be late for dinner."
He pressed a gentle but lingering kiss to his lips. "Have a good day."

He leaned into the kiss, slowly pulling back with a nod. "You too, love," he said and then backed away to go back to his work.

He left the office and headed downstairs and out to the car, doing his best to ignore the way the servants he passed were looking at him. He hated being pitied, he didn't feel he deserved it - they just didn't understand...

The car was waiting for him outside the house and the chauffeur opened the back passenger door for him. He thanked him quietly but was silent on the journey into the city centre.

He was tired and his body ached, the weather was cold, he would rather have been at home. But Narim wanted him to go out shopping so he had to kill at least a few hours doing just that. He went from shop to shop and bought a book for himself and a new shirt he thought Narim would like on him, then he went in search of a present for his husband.

Narim was difficult to buy for because he would buy whatever he wanted himself, but Aria eventually found a double deluxe limited edition CD of Bizet's 'Carmen' that he didn't have but would probably appreciate. Narim enjoyed his opera, and Carmen was one of his favourites. Aria also found a black silk scarf he thought he might like and bought him that as well.

He was back at the house by four o'clock and was starving - he hadn't dared eat out or buy so much as a snack, he knew there was a chance his husband would be angry if he did, missing breakfast had been his own fault after all. He sat in the living room with his new book and curled up to read while he waited for dinner.
